Caps forward Charles commits to Middlebury College
Wednesday, August 8, 2012 - Submitted by BCHL Media

Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Jake Charles has committed to play for the Middlebury College Panthers next season.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound forward was fourth in Capitals scoring this past season with 19 goals and 28 assists in 49 regular season games. Charles also chalked up 42 penalty minutes on the campaign.

Charles, 19, spent the season befor last between the Penticton Vees and Coquitlam Express and was part of a BCHL select team that competed in a tournament in Russia in April of 2011.

Middlebury is one of a handful of the most highly regarded colleges in the United States for academics. The campus is located in Middlebury, Vermont and is home to 2,450 undergraduate students.

The Panthers play in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the program has won eight NCAA Division III Championships (1995-1999, 2004-2006).
