Penticton Vees forward Travis St. Denis has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending May 13, the league announced Monday.
St. Denis recovered from a bout of the flu and returned to the Vees lineup scoring points in each of the five games he dressed for. The Trail native registered an assist in each of the Vees first two wins of the RBC Cup and was named Player of the Game against the Portage Terriers.
He followed that up with another Player of the Game nod in the 3-0 semifinal win over the Soo Thunderbirds where he counted two assists. The 5-foot-8, 170-pounder scored his first goal of the tournament in the final against the Woodstock Slammers and also picked up an assist on the game-winning goal by Joey Benik.
St. Denis finished the RBC Cup with a goal and six assists to finish second in tournament scoring. He was also named Player of the Week this season in early October and will suit up at Quinnipiac University next season.
Honourable mentions this week go to Vees defenceman Mike Reilly, goalie Michael Garteig and forward Joey Benik.
