Gillam unbeatable for Chiefs in earning Gongshow Player of the Week Award

Chilliwack Chiefs goalie Mitch Gillam has been named the Gongshow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 2, the league announced Monday.

Gillam recorded back-to-back shutouts on the road in Prince George stopping every shot that came his way. The Chiefs were outshot both games with Gillam turning aside 31 shots each night. He recorded an assist on the winning goal in the second game.

The Peterborough, Ont. native was named 1st Star both nights and now leads the BCHL in wins (16) goals-against average (2.16), save percentage (2.39) and is tied for the league lead with three shutouts.
