Vipers goalie Halcrow secures deal to Portage College

Vernon Vipres goalie Kirby Halcrow has committed to attended Portage College and will also continue his playing career there.
The Grande Prairie, Alta. native returns to his home province for college after being a three-year starter in the BCHL. Halcrow compiled a 52-73-3 record over his three campaigns split between the Quesnel Millionaires and Vernon.
Halcrow went to the RBC Cup final with Vernon in 2011 and had a BCHL playoff ledger of 17-9 to go along with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.
Portage College is located three hours northeast of Edmonton in Lac La Biche, Alta. and the Voyageurs play in the Alberta College Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Halcrow will look to be their starting goaltender in the upcoming season.
