Kerfoot scooped by Devils with 150th pick in draft

Like the rest of the BCHL players chosen in Saturday's NHL Entry Draft, Coquitlam Express forward Alex Kerfoot played for Team Canada West at the 2011 World Junior A Challenge in Langley.
Unlike the others, Kerfoot is not committed to college but that made no difference to the New Jersey Devils who nabbed the West Vancouver native in the fifth round, 150th overall.
Kerfoot had a banner rookie campaign with the Express posting 25 goals and 44 assists to go along with 24 penalty minutes. The showing was good enough to earn the 5-foot-9, 155-pound playmaker the Coastal Conference Rookie of the Year award, Most Sportsmanlike Player award and a First-Team All-Star nod.
