Smokies add Heaven to coaching staff
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 - Submitted by BCHL Media/Trail Smoke Eaters
The Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce the hiring of Brent Heaven as assistant coach.

Heaven has six years experience as an assistant, head coach and general manager in the KIJHL with the Castlegar Rebels and Creston Valley Thunder Cats. Last season, Heaven's Thunder Cats posted a 30-17-0-5 record, finishing third in the KIJHL's Eddie Mountain Division. Heaven has also spent time as a co-coach with the BC Major Midget League's Kootenay Ice.

As a player, Heaven spent two seasons in the BCHL, posting 35 points (14-21) with the Quesnel Millionaires during the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Brent to our staff for the 2012-2013 season," said Smoke Eaters head coach/general manager Bill Birks. "He will bring a wealth of experience and a positive, winning attitude to our dressing room."

In addition to his new duties with the Smoke Eaters, Heaven will also assist the Thunder Cats in their search for a new head coach.
