Warriors alum Boyle earns second Hockey East rookie nod
Monday, March 5, 2012 - Submitted by BCHL Media/Hockey East

Westside Warriors graduate Kevin Boyle caught the eye of the Hockey East judges and was named that conference's rookie of the week for the second time this season.

Boyle picked up the win on Friday night against No. 12 Merrimack allowing
just one goal while making 25 saves including 13 in the second period.
Boyle also helped UMass go 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Manalapan, N.J. native is 8-5-4 on the season for the Minutemen who have compiled a 13-16-5 overall record. He leads the club in wins, save percentage, goals-against average and minutes played.

With the Warriors last season, Boyle was named to the BCHL all-rookie team posting a 20-16-1 record with one shutout, 3.02 GAA and .902 sv%.
