Dear friends and fans of the BCHL,

We are pleased to begin the coming season by returning to Chilliwack and Prospera Centre Sept. 19 to 21 for the third Bauer BCHL Showcase.

The response in the first two years from scouts at the college and professional level has been overwhelmingly positive. Prospera Centre offers the ideal venue for talent evaluators to see all players under one roof in one weekend. For our teams and players, this is extremely valuable as they are able to interact with scouts from higher levels and put their names on the radar screen for the future.

In the last 10 years, the BCHL has averaged 103 players with scholarships in the league each season. That translates into more than $2 million annually for players going to college hockey programs. The Bauer BCHL Showcase continues to drive the number of opportunities available to our players.

Again, each team will play two games at the 2014 Showcase - games that count in the regular-season standings. This ensures fierce competition on both sheets of ice all weekend. Also, this season's event is two weeks later into September, more in line with the traditional hockey season which mean all teams will be well-prepared to put on a great show.

We'd love to see you there in September - check the other pages in our 'Showcase' menu to find out how you can experience the event.

Yours truly,

John Grisdale
Commissioner, BCHL
Ray Ferraro
